The Dirty Truth on Cleanliness!

"Clean up a pigsty," she commented one evening, and if the creatures in it still has the pig-minds and pig-desires, soon it will be the same old pigsty again. When I read these lines, the first thought that strike was the Banega Swachh India campaign launched by Shri. Amitabh Bachchanji. The above lines go very well with the mentality of Indian's. If you clean the roads this morning, the very next morning you find it in more miserable condition. I think first the mentality must be cleaned and then the road will be cleaned automatically.
"Lage raho Munna Bhai" was really an inspiring movie *Only if you understood the real message out of humour* In the first half, there was a situation wherein a person callsup Munnabhai and complains about a paan-chewing man who had a disgusting habit of spitting on his flat wall. After consulting with bapu's ghost he suggests the person, not to pick up a fight with the paan-chewing man but instead to cheerfully smile at him every time he sprays out the betel-juice and clean the entrance wall himself. The paan-chewing man gets embarrassed and guilty, and finally stopped spitting on the person's wall.
It was a small scene but, has a good message. Let the dirty minds create dirt around, we will clean it with smile on our face and embarrase these people through are action rather then words.

Have you ever noticed, when your mom uses a cup of water just for measuring purpose. She cleans that cup with soap and water, even though it contained only water. So if clean things are cleaned over and over again. Why can't dirt be cleaned?
We are at 123rd rank when it comes to cleanliness, its a part of National shame. When people return from abroad the very first thing they talk about is cleanliness there. Imagine if we contribute ourselves towards the campaign 'Banega Swachh India'. People travelling abroad will talk about the cleanliness in India. If everyone aims at rank1 in cleanliness we will surely reach near it.

Have you ever thought how a garbage spot is made, In India when a dirty man throws a piece of shit somewhere, Crowd watches him, someone amongst the crowd throws another dirt and this thing goes on and on and then after months it becomes a garbage spot. We should follow Gandhiji's advice, "I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet." It simply means I will not let others exploit my mind through his deeds. We do what we see, so just think and then do it.

India, Going Hungry!

If I ask, "Describe India in one word? " The senior citizen's might say "Independent! " most of the middle age citizens might say "Corruption." and people of my age might say "Freedom!" All we want is Freedom!!! Freedom doesn't just mean equal rights or free to do anything anywhere it simply means freedom from everything, from poverty to corruption from malnutrition to education. We just want a Better India! Dreaming about better India isn't difficult but chasing that dream is. I already wrote about poverty and hunger.

Now let me write about Malnutrition. So what is Malnutrition? Malnutrition is a subject of National Shame! India is the most chronically malnourished country according to 2008 statistics. Undernourished children have more risk of death than children who are well-nourished. Thus these children are more prone to serious diseases. We live in a country that prides itself on power and weatlh, yet there are millions of children who go hungry every day. We all should stand together, together as one and fight against this obstacle.

There are list of causes for malnutrition. So if I sum up them they include:
  • Poverty.
  • Illiterate mothers (or ones having less than five years of education).
  • Poor access to medical services.
  • Poor sanitation.
  • Early marriages of girls.
  • Pregnancy at early age resulting in ignorance about nutritional needs of infants and thus low birth weight of the newborns.
  • Poor breastfeeding and many more resulting to malnutrition.

Proper nutrition is important, Nutrition ensure proper growth of mind and body. Mental and physical development both are important. Good nourishment is the right of every child and the government is also taken good steps towards it. Government needs our support and we all should show our participation in the national schemes. One of it is School feeding. It not only fills stomachs, but has a proven track record of boosting enrollment, attendance and academic performance. There are many other national schemes and we should look upto participating in it.

To prevent malnutrition there are simple ways :
  • Proper and nutritious food should be feed during pregnancy.
  • Improve breastfeeding practice.
  • Proper sanitation must be maintained to avoid risk of infection.
  • Proper nourishment must be done, over nourishment and under nourishment both are harmful.
  • Control deficiencies in adolescent girls and women.
  • Provide proper care to children at proper age.
  • Provide information about Malnutrition.
If a child is malnourished both brain and body will put their hands down. Hungry people cannot be good at learning or producing anything, except perhaps violence. The child will neither be able to educate nor play properly. As said, Hunger and education must never go hand in hand. The graph shows us the rate of children under malnutrition

For better future India need better youth and for the betterment we should take steps to get ridoff Malnutrition. Think twice before you waste even a small grain. Somewhere atleast one child will be craving for food at this minute. I am going to #BlogToFeedAChild with Akshaya Patra and BlogAdda

What You Don't Know About Children in India, May Shock You!

After reading about the initiative taken by BlogAdda and Akshaya Patra i.e 'One blog post can feed one child for a year!’ Out of curiosity, I googled to know more about the condition of children in India. I was astonished reading about so many difficulties faced by the children at such small age. Poverty is a national disaster! It should be cured in time because, Imagining better India is really difficult after reading this.
"Poverty is multidimensional. It extends beyond money incomes to education, health care, political participation and advancement of one’s own culture and social organisation."- Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Poverty is a chronic condition for almost 30 per cent of India's rural population. The main suffer's of poverty are the innocent children. These children hardly get daily bread and the word education is no where in their dictionary. The only option left is begging or robbery. Their parent sent them on streets thus, their future is misguided.

I would like to share an inspiring story "The Story of Sunshine Project "
(src: http://www.sunshineproject-delhi.org )
Place: New Delhi, Capital of India
In 2002, Kuku Arora met a little girl called Roshni on his way to work. Little Roshini was approximately two years of age, had only one hand. Kuku and his wife Priti started to feed her a little food every day, but one morning she just disappeared. The couple missed her and started looking for her. After some time, they found Roshni begging. At that moment, watching the little girl begging in a very busy main street the Aroras decided to help. They had a conversation with her parents and suggested that they could look after the child during the day, providing food, healthcare and education. As Roshni’s parents lived on the street and the discussion between them and the Aroras became rather heated, more and more children came close to listen and finally asked eyes wide open whether they could come, too! This is how the wonderful idea was born twelve years ago: to give the kids from the streets the gift of a safe and happy childhood. It was only the next day that Kuku and Priti started out with no less than 17 children. They named their remarkable task "Sunshine Project". They provided them food and edcuation with love and affection. An inspiring couple, Big salute to both of them for an excellent beginning. (To know more about the Sunshine Project Click Here )
If every citizen of India comes forward with a helping hand towards these children India will surely be able to overcome the National disaster-Poverty. So lets start from today 'We all promise to show a helping hand towards these little chidren'. I am going to #BlogToFeedAChild with Akshaya Patra and BlogAdda

Hunger and Education! What will child be like in 100 years?

"Hunger is actually the worst weapon of mass destruction. It claims millions of victims each year."-Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil. In India, it claims that 10 million people die every year of chronic hunger and hunger-related disorder's. Based on government estimates that 35.6% of Indian women and 34.2% of Indian men have BMIs less than 18.5.

The Planning Commission’s India Human Development Report states, “If India is not in a state of famine, it is quite clearly in a state of chronic hunger.” Dr. John Butterly, executive director of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire and co-author of “Hunger: The Biology and Politics of Starvation,” says chronic malnutrition often leads to a compromised immune system and makes a person unable to fight off organisms “that a normally fed human would barely notice.”
The Prime Minister called India’s malnutrition problem a national shame after a survey revealed that 42% of the nation’s children are underweight. Without oil, Machine fails at his work similarly, without food human fail at their work. Children are the roots of better India if they are not feed proper it will lead to disaster in near future.

"Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the remainder is needed by others."- Saint Augustine. If you google you'll find number of families who have lost their children due to Malnutrition. There are many families in India who waste large amount of food while, few who sacrifice their food for others*Wastage and Sacrifice are two different terms*. For a better India we need healthy children. If you are hungry your mind becomes unstable, you act like a demon. Hunger and education should never go hand in hand.

A hungry child will never be able to learn and play properly. Without fun and education the road towards better future is difficult. For a better India we need better youth. Healthy Children are real treasure's for better future of India. If it goes like this only for next few years then, then think what will it be like in the next 100 years? We all should make an attempt to contribute and it's really an amazing attempt of BlogAdda and Akshaya patra "One blog post can feed one child for a year". I am going to #BlogToFeedAChild with Akshaya Patra and BlogAdda

The Letter

The letter that was never posted...

Dear Life,
Since very long time, I have a question to be answered. I asked several people, all of them replied same "Life is a bitch!". I was never satisfied with the answer and then I gave a thought and started writing this letter.
Everytime when I say," I'm happy!" there's problem waiting ahead. When the problem is solved you say," Wait for a second" and you have another huge one ready. You create problems and I solve them, this process is going on since many years.
Now, I just want to know "Why me?". Is it cause I know how to keep my life in line. With tears in my eyes I still manage to say"Nah,I'm fine!". Is acceptance the reason? The path towards the brighter future is not a mere cake walk for me. The road is full of twists and turns. Every new step has new challenges ahead.
At one point you break me and at very next one you give the strength to make it.You showed me worst phase and brought good days.Once I was ready for enjoying those good days you took them away. I always accepted what you gave me may it be worst or best. You go on, even if I choose to move on and take a chance in the unknown or stay behind locked in the past, thinking of what I could've done.
With smile on my face and tension on my forehead, I managed everthing.Every new day meant New beginning to me cause I believe there is nothing like word end.Everytime starting it all over again was difficult even then,I accepted it as a gift from you. I cried, I smiled , I feared, I laughed at everything ahead but you never glanced at me and said "This is the last one!".
Sometimes I feel your(life) a gamble!  I'm gambling everyday everynight. Each new day is a new game. May it be giving an examination or catching a train. Either I make it a day or I loose the entire day! I'm tired of this break-make and worst-good policy of yours. I'm rid-off of it and need a final solution over all this.
I'm thankful for showing me my strengths and weakness . Hope Life reads this and make it a day! I'm waiting for the day you'll turn and say "No more troubles, Enjoy me!".
Yours faithfully,
Stressed Me

Mumma!

Mumma! Just a set of 5 alphabets but, the word occupies the entire universe. The Universe around me!
It's difficult to explain the relationship between a child and his mother.
Mother,The word is incredible. You are the reason behind this word. The magical experience. You kick her, Your turns and twists make her cry. She suffers everything but, over every pain all what she demands is good health for the life inside.
She carries about one and half kg for a long period.
When she deliveries you, A glance at the child vanishes all her pain. It's the last time when she's happy watching you cry and then decides no more tears for the lifetime. The first word you spoke ,your first step all are recorded for lifetime.
You might be dark, ugly, weird looking but for your mother your a Rockstar and A Prince/Princess. She will protect you from the world out there but, will scold you at all your mistakes. She might be rude, dominating and stick at times but her heart always beats for you.
She records all your small happiness but, she gulps all your pains and sorrows. She might cry alone but, will teach you to stay strong. She might show you how strong she is but inside she has a soft heart. Your kiss makes her happy but, your mistakes make her weak.

Let me talk about me and my mumma
We share,
We cry,
We Laugh,
And
We Fight together
But, still Our relationship seems complicated¿
Our relationship is such that,
I can imagine life without you but, practically I can't live without you. I think I'm emotionless in your case but, even a small scratch on your body increases my heartrate. I don't care about what people say but, In your case I can make people cry for each word they say.
There were times we had nothing in our hand.Times were difficult and big mess around but, you never lettme down you tried your best to turn my dreams into reality.
You taught me the value of money and respect. You showed me the difference between easy and simple. You always said choose simple over easy coz easy makes you lazy!
We are two completely contrast personalities you often choose south while I turn towards north.  We fight on every single topic but, at the end of the day I rest in your arms.
Me and my mumma share a bit hatke, a bit different and a unique relationship!
Through this blog I just want to say ,
"ThankYou, A big hug and thanks for all what you have done for me and dada. Living alone is difficult, the society never shows a supportive hand towards you, it drags you down but, you never lost hopes you always stood up and showed me the right way. Even though you were alone you never let any of my wishes incomplete, you always fulfilled them.
You ate a bread less but, never let me crave for one. You suffered bad days but, you never let those times affect me. Now, when we have everything, all at one call, you teach me to stay upto line and respect things. You often say "Money is Mind and heart spoiler, It can make your life and spoil as well!" . Your experience are my values! Thanks for all support and protection"
If I start making a list of things mumma sacrificed for me it would extend the limits. Many children avoid saying "I love you mumma! Or thanks mumma!" so to all the readers I would just say lets start from today "Respect Mumma! Say I love you , Kiss her and say thanks for every single thing she does."  Just see your one kiss and thanks will make her day best one.
It's said "Mother is the real God" , have faith in her. She'll never let you fall!
You are my Shield,
You are my Strength,
You are my Self-Esteem,
You are my Vision,
And Overall
You are my Universe!
